(Directions such as; ‘Lead Singer’ ‘Guitarist’ is to show when the band was performing)

From watching this video I have learnt how shots differ between the number of band members being focused on at one time and the parts of the song. The chorus has a larger number of shots in the first few seconds which gives the effect of a faster, energetic and more positive feel to the video, then balancing to a consistent number of shots throughout. The verse is slower with longer takes, allowing for the story behind the video to be told more clearly and thus emphasizing the faster chorus. The medium close ups give a clear enough shot for all band members to be recognised as individuals as well, a larger focus being on that of the lead singer helping to keep link the band performance during the chorus with that of the story being told. The lack of close ups worked well through the chorus as it allowed for the dramatic backdrop of the scene to be noticeable, giving a dramatic effect in the strong presence it gave to the video, offering a possible metaphoric link with the story  through what was shown to be an ongoing storm outside. The video also had cuts throughout, making the transition between shots almost unnoticeable and allowing for the video to flow without interuptions in the band's performance.
